Tip 1: Check the scrape
The first thing you should check is the scrape, which is at the bottom of the auger housing. The scraper bar can wear out after used one or two seasons. When the scrape wears too much, your snow blower doesn’t scrape all the snow from the surface. In this case, you should reposition it to contact your cleaning surface.Tip 2: Adjust the skid shoes
Skid shoes are used to regulates the gap between the scraper blade and the clearing surface. You can change the height of your snow blower by simply adjusting them. After adjusting the scrape blade, you must reset the skid shoes to maintain a proper clearing gap.Tip 3: Check the tires
If you found your snow blower pulling to one side, it indicates that your wheels may be underinflated. You’ll need to check the recommended tire pressure on the sidewall of your tire and inflate your tires to adequate and equal tire pressures.
Tip 4: Inspect belts
It’s important to frequently check the belts for signs of wear or damage. One reason for your snow blower isn’t throwing snow like before, one reason could be the auger drive idler isn’t applying enough tension for a belt to grip the auger to spin, or the belt is worn or broken. Then you’ll need to either adjust the auger drive idler or the auger clutch cable.Tip 5: Check the disk
If a disk wears, it starts losing contact with drive wheel pulley. You can adjust the drive wheel clutch cable to add in more tension. If it isn’t help, you will have to replace the snowblower’s friction disk. We’d be happy to receive feedback on whether it works for you!
